Earlier this month, we offered some highlights of some of our favorite spots to unwind and relax as we enter into a new year. As there are many days to come in 2024, there are more options for you to finally set aside some ‘me’ time that you have earned and deserve.
On behalf of the entire family at Juniper Springs apartments in Austin, we encourage you to cross off a day a month to reward yourself with a day at one of the top spas in Austin.
Mokara Spa at the Omni at Barton Creek
For a true escape, head to the Omni Resort to unwind in their unimaginable spa overlooking the lush hillsides of Austin’s Hill Country. With 13,000 square feet to spoil you to your core, you may want to return as often as your busy life will allow. It’s a sanctuary that lets your mind slip away with a design that mirrors the region’s waterways, creeks and springs. As their website notes it best … the focus is on restoration of the mind, body and spirit.
In addition to traditional spa services, check out their ‘restorative personal journeys’ to help you ease into 2024.
Miraval Resort
Taking every cue of the character of Austin, the Miraval Resort offers a 360-degree approach to wellness throughout their hill country setting. This is by far a ‘must experience’ for those who have a deep appreciation for your mind, soul and body.
Their creativity flows throughout their “Body Renewal Rituals.” All are restorative in nature with exfoliating scrubs, nourishing wraps and other ‘rituals’ that await your escape.
Here are some of our favorites that we highly recommend:
• Kokoro Ritual
• Ginger Healer
• Hammam
• Flourish
• River Flower
• Serenity
Miraval offers more than most of the spas in Austin with acupuncture, Thai massages and crystal energy treatments.
Spa Sway
With a mantra that prioritizes physical and mental health, the all-female owned and founded Spa Sway is another favorite of ours. Voted “Best Day Spa” time and time again, you can rest assured you are in for a well-deserved treat. They have over 25 body and facial treatments that were created through their persistence to offer only the most innovative and enriching spa experiences.
For those who can’t afford some of Austin’s most luxurious spa resorts, this is your place to unplug and plug into a lifestyle that everyone should experience. Promising ‘nothing but the best,’ it’s by far the best value to be found.

After the rush of the holidays, our bodies crave a little downtime to relax, refresh and reset for a new year and a new YOU! Fortunately for all who live in and around our apartment community in Austin, Texas, a fine selection of top spas in Austin offers the perfect escape.
Whether your life overflows with family commitments or perhaps too many hours at work, we encourage you to find some ‘me’ time at some of our favorite spas noted below.
Austin’s Fairmont Spa
In the heart of downtown, the Fairmont has an escape that one would not expect throughout our bustling city. High above the rest of the world is a haven of luxury that awaits you and yours. Throughout the seasons, the expansive windows of the solarium set the scene for a true getaway that you have earned and deserve.
There are nine treatment rooms where you can set aside everything but time for yourself. With its award-winning service and spa options, you may want to cross off everything on your calendar for a full day of world-class treatments.
If you can’t get away during the day, the Fairmont’s “Spa After Dark” offers “Twilight Treatments” … ideal for a romantic ‘date night’ or special celebration.
Milk + Honey
Since 2006, founder Alissa Bayer has passionately pursued her quest to offer only the finest healing and relaxation treatments that are a true treat to be found. Our favorite is her “HydraFacials” which must be experienced to appreciate. All of their massage treatments include a professional Massage Therapist, heated massage tables, your choice of aromatherapy oil or body butter, therapeutic compress, warm neck rolls and steamed hot towels.
Viva Day Spa
With four options to help you ease into the new year, Viva Day Spas have been voted “Best Spa in Austin” by the Austin Chronicle and Austin Monthly and “Best Massage” by the Austin American Statesman. And all with good reason. Whether you choose to indulge in their rejuvenating facials and HydraFacials, book one of their Signature, Deep Tissue or Swedish Massage, or choose to spoil a friend and book a Couples Massage, you are in for a complete treat!

Be it for Christmas Dinner or just to toast to a festive night on the town, the vibrant city of Austin has you covered. Below you will find a list of some of the favorite spots our family at Juniper Springs apartment community likes to dine or have a holiday toddy to celebrate all that is good in life. Wherever you choose to go, make a reservation now as many of these local favorites are full every night.
To give you a little history of each, we have captured their stories in the descriptions from their websites. Cheers!
Garbo’s
The Garbo's name goes back to the East Coast, where three sisters learned to adore the local lobster shacks and the catch of the day. The ocean and sandy beach were their entire life and embodied memories that the sisters are happy to share with anyone dining at their restaurant. The eldest, Heidi Garbo, took those ties to the ocean wherever she roamed from Connecticut down to the Florida Keys where she opened up the famous Garbo's Grill and met her husband, who somehow found a way to pull Heidi away from the ocean to the only land-locked home she's ever lived in, Austin, Texas.
L’ Oca d’Oro
A late-night meal was Fiore’s inspiration for this eclectic restaurant in Austin. As the story goes, the concept for L’Oca d’Oro (The Golden Goose's) first iteration was as a supper club hosted a little bit too secretly at Franklin BBQ on Sunday nights in 2013. The ‘Dinners to Rock To’ series paired menus with bands and courses with albums. Fiore indulged his most creative impulses for how and what people should eat. His new partner, running the service, picked the purplest wines he could find for the Prince dinner, the funkiest wines for the James Brown dinner, female winemakers for Nina Simone and vegan wines for The Smiths.
Diner Bar Austin
The Diner Bar is a full-service restaurant and bar with a lively, convivial spirit adjacent to the Thompson Austin’s lobby. Under the guidance of Mashama Bailey and Johno Morisano, the menu features a range of seasonal Southern dishes layered with local Texan inspiration, such as Chicken Fried Quail with regionally ground grits and Clams and Chorizo with garlic trencher.
The Peacock Mediterranean Grill
Situated in Downtown’s 2nd Street District, Austin Proper Hotel and Residences offers an artful immersion in lifestyle and well-being. With emphasis on collaboration, the passionate, compelling vision of designer Kelly Wearstler meets the culinary creativity of Austin taste-maker, MML Hospitality. They are honored to share that Travel + Leisure’s 2022 World’s Best Awards results included their establishment.
Nido
Away from the restless energy of the city, Nido at The Loren is a true rooftop oasis. Step into the glass elevator from the lobby of The Loren and emerge through the trees, and into a world of sophisticated cuisine and casually impeccable service. Seasonal cues and the finest offerings from local purveyors are signatures of Nido’s Modern American menu, uniquely balancing Texas Hill Country rusticity with refined culinary techniques and precision, paired with an extensive curated selection of wine and spirits—all against a backdrop of the very best views in the city.
