\nThis first blog is all about the booming sport of rock-climbing and how Austin is taking it by storm. Here are some highlights about four of the spots that beginner rock climbers, to the most advance, recommend for cool indoor fun.

\nCrux Climbing Center<\/a><\/strong>

\nThis bouldering and top roping facility includes a wall where climbers can “top out” and ascend over the top of the structure; for the little ones, there’s a super climbing room that will wear your child out! The facility is open to all ages, yet those 12 an under require parental supervision.

\nDay passes range from $10 to $22, and there are monthly memberships as well.

\nGregory Gym at the U of Texas<\/a><\/strong>

\nClimbers will appreciate the central location of this climbing wall, which offers bouldering to non-students as well as University of Texas students. It’s open to participants 15 years and older, yet those under 17 require parental supervision.

\nNon- students must purchase a guest pass for $12 and then an additional bouldering pass for $10.
\n
\nAustin Rock Gym<\/a><\/strong>

\nThis family-owned gym offering bouldering and top roping and features a 24-foot climbing wall called the “Big Pig.” The facility is open to all ages yet climbers under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

\nDay passes are $10, and memberships start at $50 a month.

\nAustin Bouldering Project<\/a><\/strong>

\nThe biggest rock-climbing gym in the United States, this massive facility includes bouldering arenas for adults, advanced youth, youth, and toddlers. Just like most rock climbing businesses, it is open to all ages yet here if you are 14 or younger a parent or adult guardian is required.

\nDay passes range from $12 to $16, and memberships start at $56 a month.
