Sept. 21-28: Fantastic Fest<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The country’s largest genre film festival is back with a lineup of horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and action films from directors around the world. With a full week of programming, the festival will have various world and national premieres sure to please all cinephiles.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhere<\/b>: Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 22-24: Texas Tribune Festival<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

A festival for the politically engaged, Trib Fest will present conversations with over 250 journalists, national and Texan politicians, community leaders and more. Al Franken’s going to kick off the weekend with a keynote address about his new book, and Texas senators will take the stage together to discuss issues that affect the state.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhere<\/b>: The University of Texas at Austin<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 23-24: Pecan St. Festival<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Austin’s favorite arts festival is back this September with 50 musical acts, 30 food vendors, and hundreds of artists from across the nation. This 30-year tradition will once again take place in Austin’s historic Sixth Street district, with activities for the whole family.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhere<\/b>: 501 Old Pecan St.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sept. 27-30: Altercation Comedy Fest<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Held at Kick Butt Coffee Music and Booze, this nontraditional punk comedy show has been headlined by JT Habersaat since 2008 and continually hosts numerous local and national comedians.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
