If it is costume contests, treasure hunts, good food and candy that you are after, look no further. We came up with a list of Halloween parades, parties, haunted houses, and more around the area for families to enjoy and Halloween enthusiasts to dress up and mingle on the dance floor.

 

Austin Zoo

Every Friday and Saturday in October from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Admission $17.50 (tickets are limited)

 

You can visit the zoo in costume, ride the Haunted Train, and explore the Haunted House.

 

Bullock Museum

1800 Congress Ave, Austin, TX

October 27th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm, FREE

 

Calling all gamers, dress up as your favorite video game character and enjoy games and demonstrations inspired by the exhibit Pong to Pokémon: The Evolution of Electronic Gaming. Then explore the museum’s exhibits after hours.

 

Viva La Vida Festival and Parade

The parade will start on 5th Street between I35 Northbound Frontage Road and Waller

October 28th, parade staging 9:00am, parade launch 12:00pm, FREE

 

This year’s parade will celebrate Frida Kahlo for the 110th anniversary of her birth. The event  includes costumes, props, live music, dancers, and floats. There will also be food trucks, dancing, and vendors afterwards.

  • On this live Murder Mystery, you will be welcomed to the world of cable TV’s HOTTEST cult hit, “The Walking Weird”. Do you have what it takes to figure out who’s out for blood?

October 29th, Pumpkin Express, 10:00am – 1:00pm and 2:30pm – 5:30pm, Admission $38.00 – $48.00

  • The Pumpkin Express takes you to Bertram where you will step off the train and find your perfect pumpkin. You may also enjoy a chat with Farmer Brown, take a tour of the historic 1912 train depot, and drink hot apple cider. So, pack a lunch and jump on board! All ages welcome.
